Both of them are true-blue Namibians: Anja von Reeken grew up on a farm near Gobabis, Jörg Fischer near Okahandja. They have been involved in tourism since 1992 and are hosts of the Namib Desert Lodge since mid 2005.

Jörg is responsible for maintenance while Anja takes care of housekeeping and staff training. “The initial reaction was that we were too perfectionist for the desert”, Anja says, “but we were not prepared to let go of our standards. Then Erno Bertolini (part of Executive Management) came and helped with the finances and the training of the kitchen staff. Now we got a good team knitted together.”
